Dragon Alliance APX Rasta Goggles (Black, Red Ion/Yellow Blue Ion)

Product Description

Double-wide would be an adequate way to explain the Dragon APX Goggle. This goggle sports a lens so large that Dragon's engineers decided to let the lens completely overlap the edges of the goggle frame, and that means ultimate peripheral vision. And because winter often involves sweaty hikes and blinding bluebird days, the lens of this behemoth was finished with a fog-busting internal coating and 100% UV protectionAAAit doesn't get any better.Product Features

4Outstanding vision, no fogging; but, prone to scratching.
By M. Na
The goggles are amazing. You can barely see the frame and it only fogs up when you breathe heavily into a neck warmer or a baklava. When it does fog up it lasts for less than a minute. The only down side to these goggles are that they scratch easily. The scratches on the outside of the goggles do not hinder vision; but, the scratches on the inside of the goggles can distort vision. Do not buff scratches on the outside of ionized lenses and do not buff too much on the inside of the lenses. If you buff too much you will cut into the next layer of the lens. The damage is not noticeable from far away: you will only see the damage if you spend time to examine the lenses up close. Overall with all the damage, these goggles still have outstanding clarity. Functionally they are great while aesthetically they damage easily.

4Functional but a little weird looking
By Dylan
I received these goggles last week and just got back from a three day trip where I was able to try them out. All three days were bluebird (I have quite the sunburn) and so I only tried out the Red Ion lens. The lens is fantastic, it was a major upgrade over the Amber/Chrome lens that I had been using on my last pair of goggles. I didn't have a headache or any eye fatigue after being in the super bright sun for all three days (nor did I with my previous lens), but the definition I was getting on the snow was far superior with the Red Ion.The goggles fit great with my helmet (Sandbox classic low profile), but I wasn't crazy about how they look. It might just be a mismatch with my face type or helmet shape but the goggles are just too big and I look like a giant bug. I didn't want to go with the APX-S because I like a larger goggle for their field of vision. I was told they looked good though so perhaps I'm just being a bit picky.

3Nice goggles but....
By David Biggs
Pros: These goggles are extremely comfortable. The triple layer of padding is phenomenal. Quick to defog themselves.Cons: If you are looking down and breathing down into your jacket, these do fog up pretty quickly. They do defog quickly but its annoying when trying to fix/tighten up your boots or bindings and they start to fog on you. Another downside is how easily the lenses scratch. I took a fall on a patch of ice on a run and there is four scratch marks right where my face at snow at. Preventable if I didn't fall, but even Shaun White takes a spill every so often. For the price, I would expect lenses to be more scratch resistant.
