Cord is looped around ski brake and cinched in cleat to hold any shaped ski firmly against extra large supports with soft, durable, non-slip and non-marking rubber pads. Ski break is automatically retracted. Pivoting supports adjust to any camber and side-cut when ski is positioned for base and side-edge work. No more hassles with jaws of conventional vises getting in the way when waxing or working on edges. Pads are rotated and locked in place when working on snowboard base. Snowboard is placed in side clamp option and locked using cams for side-edge work. Supports made of durable and impact-resistant Lexan polycarbonate with Alcryn mpr pads. Aluminum clamps failed after one season. Plastic is too flexible. Do yourself a favor - find an aluminum/steel vise with a more rugged clamp system.

Works very well, had to drill an additional hole and add a bolt through the side of both vises to keep the top from moving while working, but other than that this setup works like a champ. Use it with the Rockler Aluminum rails and adjustable knobs for the best possible setup. Can be used with or without the cinch cord, I am pleased with this product.

The clamps that come with the vise are extremely brittle. One of mine broke into three pieces on second use.Also, I don't know if I just had bad luck or if it's intentional. The product I received was totally repacked with the original box inverted inside out with an English label slapped on the outside (the original box is in Italian I think). The whole thing just didn't inspire much confidence.
