I bought this rack for 2 reasons:1) I wanted to have my board visible in my room to guests without having it standing around in a corner. For those of you who don't know, having your snowboard standing on end on it's own weight for too long can eventually warp the board slightly. So I had to get it off the ground somehow.2) I was tight on space. I considered the usual horizontal mounts which come in various shapes and forms, but the way I looked at it, I enjoyed the prospect of having a vertical mount much more. It saves valuable wall space and I'd say it's generally unique relative to the usual horizontal wall mounts.I love this thing. It holds the board firmly in place with no signs of letting up. Installing it isn't a problem if you're handy in the least. I had to install it on a hollow wall because the studs didn't fall quite where I needed, but as long as you do it properly, it'll be very secure. Just make you never mount it onto a hollow wall without the proper support!! Then you're asking for trouble. It takes very minor assembly to put it together. I myself made 2 mistakes along the process that I noticed soon enough and corrected with ease. I would say the instructions could be a little bit more clear, but I'll also take the blame for being a little overzealous and not being as meticulous as I should've been. Just pay attention to detail (of which there isn't much to be honest) and you'll be fine.It hangs nicely and neatly right by my window and it's easy to take out of the mount as well. The descriptions for it claim you can just "Pull it free and be off", but you can't just pull it straight out of the mount. Regardless, after you mess with it a few times, it's easy to do and offers no trouble at all.Something else I really like about it is due to its particular design, you can hang the board up at any height relative to the mount because the pressure points will always clamp tightly onto any section of the board due to the board's own weight. If you've already shopped around, I'm sure you've seen the alternative to this: mounts that are essentially "englarged guitar holders" that they make for snowboards. That didn't really appeal to me much, because my board would only be able to hang tightly by one particular contact point. Such is not the case with this mount so you really haven't much of a worry with most common board sizes. I'd say it can probably hold anything from a 145 up to a 165 wide. But don't quote me, it's just an educated estimate. All in all, I love this product. I hung it up, and it serves its purpose beautifully. I happened to buy mine at a different website which offers variants of the same design (still by the listed manufacturer, Bordz-Up). The standard is a fixed angle to the right (which is what's pictured above). There are also variants that swivel to either direction as well as one that is made with a fixed angle to the LEFT. I bought that one because it happened to fit better where I was placing it. So if you're not a fan of the angle the arm is facing, search online and you'll find your variants. Just don't try the company's website, itself. Oddly, it also doesn't offer the variants, but I can assure you that they are manufactured by the same guys (according to the packing slip, at least =P )Solid buy, and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an aesthetic space saving alternative.
